I went in at 6:30 PM on a Sunday where they close at 7:00 PM. Helpful staff everywhere I needed them in different departments. They didn't rush me out.
On the other hand, if you are intending to purchase anything custom made such as granite countertops, you will be SORELY DISAPPOINTED. I am. We attempted to place an order with them for granite after our initial encounter with them yesterday. We arrived for the second trip yesterday evening around 5. We were told by an employee that the only two employees that work that area were gone for the day, took down our number, copied our measurements, and said we could "come back tomorrow". On our way home (20 miles away) we receive a call from one of the two countertop employees stating he actually WAS there and had just been on lunch. He talked with my husband, quoted a price, and said "come back tomorrow" to sign the contract and pay.

I will use this Lowe's when we are buying from the shelf; but, if we need advice or custom made items (such as our hardwood floors soon), I will happily drive the additional 20 miles to Home Depot. There you get the great management and wonderful customer service one deserves when making big purchases.
my last home. I was pleased to discover that Lowe's Shelbyville was so close to the home we just purchased, as there is much remodeling to be done. If your intention is to visit here for tools, paint, electrical, etc. you should be fine, granted you don't require much assistance.
Lucky to have a store here. Saves your time and travel to Louisville. We have been shopping here for home and business related stuff.
They really must enjoy standing around watching middle-aged ladies struggle to load lumber, water heaters, bags of concrete, etc because they do it every time I reluctantly visit. I shouldn't have to beg somebody to help me, yet countless red-vested staff members will breeze right past while purposefully not making eye contact, doing their level best to not engage with the customer. Zero culture of service here. I only go because on our farm the to-do list is tremendous and they tend to have the things I need but I resent every dollar I spend there. Lowe's is the WalMart of home improvement.
Great. Fast forward to today when we stop in to do as was suggested of us. The other countertop employee had called in, no they did not try to find a replacement, no he couldn't find our estimate in the computer, and we could "come back tomorrow". NO! We spoke with a manager who was apologetic but otherwise unhelpful, as he doesn't know how to write up an estimate (why is he a manager, then?)
We left, drove straight to Home Depot on Hurstbourne Lane, and within an hour we had our granite countertop ordered with a savings of $600 less than the quote made at Lowe's.
